The Big Idea Project Workbook

March 10, 2023

Using a popular education framework, a core part of these workshops is “The Big Idea” Project. The project is introduced in the first workshop with an example, and will be a thread through the rest of the workshops. Our goal is for participants to directly apply the lessons from each module to their organizing work and/or projects that work towards social and economic justice.

In the first session, participants will come up with a “big idea,” or a community project that they would want to see in small groups. In each workshop, they will continue developing their “big idea” by answering the guided questions in the workbook.

This slidedeck should be used for group facilitation of the course. There are five copies of the “big idea” project in this slidedeck for up to 5 groups, with each color corresponding to one group. Participants can return to this slidedeck any time the facilitator guide calls for “Big Idea Project Group Work.”
